I am hosting my first proper dinner party for about 30 guests and want to set up a buffet-style serving area. Should I go with one large full-size chafing dish or multiple smaller ones? Also, how many fuel cans should I plan for a 3-hour event?

For 30 people, go with two rectangular chafing dishes. You can serve two mains. Plan 2-3 fuel cans per dish for 3 hours.

Get a proper serving utensil set too. The EffiQ-Rate set has the right length for full-size pans. Pre-heat dishes 10 minutes before adding food.

My setup: 2 rectangular for mains, 1 round for gravy, regular platters for cold sides. Keeps hot food hot and cold food cold!
